As an avid fan of the fashion industry and the media, it always amazes me how perfect the models may seem. I remember a time when I would try so hard to be like them; I would keep up with the latest make-up seen on advertisements. The media made me think that if I buy that product, I would look like the model... But in reality, the whole thing was a lie. Photoshop was used to perfect the model's image. People are portrayed this way in the media because this will attract millions of others. Seeing perfect female and male bodies will in magazines, newspapers, and commercials will cause the person to either idolize them, or become very intimidated and have low self esteem. Every time I would see images of perfect models, I would feel like I am not pretty and would always compare myself to them. Young men and women that are negatively affected by these images should know that all of the images produced by the media are almost perfected by using photoshop. The models in the images are different from what they look like without all the photoshop technology and make-up applied to them. Everyone shouldn't be greatly affected because of these images, we should all appreciate and be thankful for who we are. If I ever saw a magazine cover where the subject isn't all glammed up, I would be surprised because I'm pretty sure it would look really different because of the amount of artificialness added to the subject. If the society ever saw a magazine cover where the subject is all natural, their perspective about perfection will be completely different. This will make them think that nobody really is perfect, and we are all the same.
